(Neb)-Bull Kills Man In SW Nebraska Pasture
DEWEESE,Neb. (AP) - A 40-year-old south-central Nebraska man was killed by a bull late Tuesday afternoon while out checking cattle in a field.
The Nuckolls County Sheriff's Department says Kenneth Volz of Fairfield was carrying a bucket and looking after cows when the bull attacked, and he couldn't get away.
Authorities were called around 7:15 by Volz's girlfriend, who said he hadn't returned from checking the cattle.
By the time a deputy met her on a rural road about 2 miles southeast of Deweese, she had found his body in a nearby field.
