(Neb)-Longtime PSC Member And Neb Democratic Leader Anne Boyle Dead At 75
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Longtime Nebraska Public Service Commissioner and state Democratic Party Chairman Anne Boyle has died at age 75.
Boyle was married to former Omaha mayor and current Douglas County Commissioner Mike Boyle. She had suffered a stroke on Monday and was in hospice care until her death on Saturday.
Anne Boyle was active in politics her entire life, having first volunteered on a political campaign when she was 11. Former U.S. Attorney Tom Monaghan described Anne Boyle as the "soul" of the Nebraska Democratic Party.
Boyle served on the Public Service Commission for nearly 20 years and Republican U.S. Senator Deb Fischer says Boyle was a gracious person with a strong voice on telecommunication issues.
