(Neb)-Traffic Stop Results In Seizure Of $750,000 Of Pot
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers seized roughly $750,000 of high grade marijuana and arrested two people in a traffic stop Thursday morning along Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska near Gretna.
The State Patrol says a trooper pulled over an SUV on suspicion of following too closely, then smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside when he went to talk to the driver.
That led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of roughly 189 pounds of marijuana contained in heat-sealed packages hidden under a blanket in the cargo area.
The 65-year-old driver from California and a 40-year-old passenger from Illinois were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver and having no drug tax stamp.
