(Wyo)-Torrington School Supt To Retire
TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Goshen County School superintendent Jean Chrostoski has unexpectedly announced that she's retiring, effective Feb 1st.
Katherine Patrick, Board Chair for the Torrington district, says in a written statement, that Chrostoski submitted a letter to the board on Wednesday indicating her intention to retire. The board meet in special session Thursday night and accepted the retirement with an agreement on the day.
Patrick says the board thanks Chrostoski for her service to the district, and than an interim superintendent will be hired to serve the final 6 months of the current academic year.
Chrostoski is in her 6th year as superintendent in Torrington after having spent the rest of her career in education in central Illinois as a teacher, principal, and superintendent.
She told the Scottsbluff Star-Herald that after 24 years as a superintendent, which she described as "a high profile position with no margin for error" - just thinks it’s time to let someone else take over.
