LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested four men and seized several pounds each of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana following 2 traffic stops on Sunday in western Nebraska..

The first began about 7:45 a.m. CT when a trooper observed a car traveling at 105 mph on Interstate 80 near Paxton. When the trooper attempted to stop it, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, driving recklessly and passing vehicles on the shoulder.

The trooper initiated a pursuit and after about two miles, the car exited at the Paxton interchange, drove down the ramp embankment and back up toward the freeway before going airborne at the top of the embankment.

It  spun out in the traffic lanes before colliding with a metal guardrail with the two men inside fleeing on foot, only to be taken into custody a short time later.

A search of the vehicle revealed about 6 pounds of high grade marijuana and THC products in multiple packages. The 2 men, both from Illinois, were arrested for possession of more than a pound of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver, no drug tax stamp, and obstructing a peace officer.

The driver also faces numerous traffic citations, including felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, no operator's license, and more. Both men were lodged in Keith County Jail.

The second incident started about 3:40 p.m. MT with a speeding stop on Interstate 76. The trooper detected criminal activity and searched the vehicle which revealed 13 pounds of cocaine and 3 pounds of heroin hidden under a manufactured false floor beneath the front seats.

The driver and passenger were arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp. Both men were lodged in Deuel County Jail.
