(Wyo)-Wyoming Rollover Claims Rapid City Woman
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says a Rapid City woman died Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle accident 3 miles south of Chugwater on Interstate 25.
38-year old Mariah Handley was the rear passenger in a northbound quad pickup that lost traction on the ice-and-snow covered pavement and went out of control. The pickup left the roadway and rolled over 3 times.
Handley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver, Miranda Madsen of Rapid City, and a second passenger were taken to Platte County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
I-25 was closed in both directions for approximately 4 hours due to the investigation and poor road conditions.
