(SD)-One Dead, One Injured Found After Rapid City Garage Fire
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Rapid City authorities say one person was killed and another injured when a detached garage caught fire early this morning. Names, gender, and age have not been released for either individual.
The Rapid City Fire Department was called at 1:30 and arrived to find the garage fully engulfed in flames. It took about an hour to put out the fire and enter the garage, where they found one body.
A second person was found near the garage with non-life threatening injuries and taken to the hospital, but their condition is unknown at this time.
. The fire threatened two nearby occupied houses, but neither sustained any damage. Firefighters remained on scene until just after 3 a.m. extinguishing hot spots and no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and the death remain under investigation by the Rapid City Police and Fire Departments and the Pennington County Sheriff's Office.
