(SD)-Still Waiting For Final Keystone Pipeline Spill Report
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - It's been a year since the Keystone pipeline leaked about 407,000 gallons of oil in northeastern South Dakota, and while the spill area has been mitigated, a final federal investigation report has yet to be released.
The Nov. 28, 2017, leak in rural Marshall County from the pipeline owned by TransCanada was the 7th-largest onshore oil or petroleum product spill since 2010.
A National Transportation Safety Board report concluded the leak was the result of damage to pipeline during its installation in 2008, that report is separate from the still awaited one from the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
