(SD)-Correction on Runners-up - Miss State Fair Crowned Miss SD

HOT SPRINGS, S.D. - Miss State Fair Carrie Wintle of Iroqois is the new Miss South Dakota. Wintle was crowned last night from a field of 16 contestants in Hot Springs and will represent South Dakota at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City this September.
The 23-year old Wintle, who recently received her master's degree from Vanderbilt, was the first night preliminary talent winner with a piano solo.
1st-Runner-up was 19-year old Amber Hulse of Hot Springs, Miss Christmas in the Hills, while 22-year old Miss Central States Fair Evy Johnson of Firesteel, the Friday night talent winner, was 2nd-Runner-up.
Rounding out the top five were Miss USD and opening night swimsuit winner Heather Egbert of Vermillion, the 3rd-Runner-up, and 4th-Runner-up Miss Siouxland 21-year old Kaitlyn O'Neill of Groton.
