(Wyo)-EWC Names New Vice President For Student Services

TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Eastern Wyoming College has selected an administrator from the University of St Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as its as the next Vice President for Student Services. Dr Donald Appiarius will begin work on July 1st.
Dr Appiarius was chosen from among a field of nearly 40 applicants. The
search committee help multiple interviews and took input received from Open Forum sessions held at both EWC's main campus in Torrington and its smaller campus in Douglas.
As vice -resident for student services, Appiarius will play a leading role in in the school's efforts to "increase enrollment, improve retention, completion, and graduation, and ultimately place students in the work force."
Appaiarius spent 14 years as a higher education faculty member before moving over to administration 23 years ago. He's served in a broad range of student services positions, including Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Radford University and Associate Dean of Students at Saint Francis, a post he's held the last 4 years.
EWC President Dr. Lesley Travers calls Appiarius "a great addition to EWC" because he is "extremely 'student' oriented'" with a leadership approach that is very intentional and mindful toward student success,"
Appiarius says he's "honored and humbled to have been chosen" because he was "immediately impressed by the level of commitment throughout the College to serve and support students," adding that he's "looking forward to enhancing the good work already being done."
