(SD)-Name Released In Fatal Crash Near Edgemont
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the teenage boy killed in a one-vehicle crash around 3:00 Sunday morning 10 miles east of Edgemont that also injured 4 other teens. All 5 were from Rapid City and none were wearing seat belts.
The Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Antonio Updike was westbound on U.S. Highway 18 when the SUV he was driving left the roadway to the right just east of Old Hwy 18 and eventually rolled.
Updike was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Two of his passengers were taken to the Hot Springs hospital while the other two were released to their parents. Three were 15 - two girls and a boy - while the other was a 16-year old boy.
