OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) - A truck driver from Florida has pleaded no contest in Keith County District Court to 7 counts stemming from a 2016 crash on Interstate 80 near Ogallala that killed six people, including a family of five from Minnesota.

55-year-old Tony Weekly Jr will be sentenced July 20 on 3 felony and 3 misdemeanor counts of vehicular homicide and one misdemeanor count of reckless driving.
Investigators say Weekly was distracted July 31, 2016, and didn't slow down in a freewat construction zone near Brule, smashing into the back of the minivan of Jamison and Kathryne Pals of St. Paul.

The couple was killed along with their three children - ages 3 years, 2 1/2 and 23 months. Another man in another vehicle, Terry Sullivan of Denver, died later of injuries suffered in the crash..
