(Neb)-Storm Threat Keeping Some Schools To Skip Scholastic Contest
CHADRON - The 58th annual Chadron State College Scholastic Contest is tomorrow, but it's looking to be a lot smaller than planned because of the latest winter storm.
Nearly 1,150 students from 42 high schools in three states had registered, but contest co-director Danielle Lecher said late in the afternoon that some schools had called to say they weren't coming while about half called to confirm they were coming.
Lecher, the CSC Director of Marketing Development, says rescheduling to another date is not an option for the Scholastic contest because of logistics - all buildings on campus are used and many, if not most faculty, are involved with the various tests - as well as each school's calendar.
