(Neb)-Free 5-Week Cattle Course With CSC Practitioner-In-Residence Begins Tonight
CHADRON - Rancher and veterinarian Travis Van Anne begins a month-long Practitioner-in-Residence stay at Chadron State College tonight with the first session of a free 5-week, 1-credit course open to college students and the area ranching community.
“Beef Cow Herd Management as Preventative Medicine; A Systems Approach” runs Monday nights from 5:30-8:00 all this month covering topics such as vaccinations, feedlot medicine, drought management, and heifer development.
Each session is independent of the others and individuals are free to attend as many or as few as they wish or can.
This is the second year for the Practitioner in Residence program, made possible through financial support from the Bill and Virginia Coffee Family Foundation.
The Foundation also helps fund the annual CSC Range Day in January, undergraduate research presentations at the National Society for Range Management, and the CSC Range Field Study Tour.
