(Neb)-Slash Pile Burns Being Held Again Near Chadron
CHADRON - The Pine Ridge Ranger District of the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands is burning slash piles again, this time about 6 miles southeast of Chadron between the Job Crops Bypass Road, Kings Canyon Road and the Cliffs Road.
Smoke from the fires may be visible in Chadron and from the highways, and may last for the next few days, but Forest Service crews will continue to monitor until all the piles are out.
The slash piles are combination of debris from thinning operations and material partially burned in the 2012 and possibly 2006 wildfires.
