(SD)-Names Released In Feb 3 Fatal Crash Near Hermosa
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Highway Patrol has finally released the names of the 3 people who died as a result of a one-vehicle crash more than a week ago east of Hermosa.
47-year-old Matilda Waters of Pine Ridge died on Sunday the 4th, the day after the crash, 34-year old Paul Fast Wolf, also of Pine Ridge, died last Tuesday, and 44-year-old Gregory Fayson of Rapid City last Wednesday.
The Highway Patrol says Fayson was eastbound on Highway 40 about 4 miles east of Hermosa around 11:30 in the morning on Saturday the 3rd in a minivan when it drifted off the roadway and he lost control.
The minivan eventually went across both lanes of the roadway, into the south ditch and rolled. Waters and Fast Wolf were both thrown from the vehicle while Fayson remained inside. Fayson was wearing his seat belt, but investigators were unable to determine if either Waters or Fast Wolf had been belted.
