(Neb)-TransCanada And Pipeline Opponents Ask PSC For Clarifications
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Both sides of the Keystone XL pipeline issue are asking the Nebraska Public Service Commission to clarify its recent ruling approving an alternative route for the pipeline in the state.
Attorneys for pipeline developer TransCanada and for landowners who want to stop it have both filed motions asking the Nebraska Public Service Commission to better explain its decision.
The commission approved a route but not TransCanada's preferred route, which has already undergone numerous local, state and federal reviews. Opponents are pushing for similar reviews for the new route.
A TransCanada spokesman says the company filed its clarification motion in hopes that the PSC will answer lingering questions about the decision before the company files an amended application with the commission.
An attorney for the landowners says they're asking the commission to make it clear that they expressly denied TransCanada's preferred route for the project.
