(Wyo)-Allegiant Air Dropping Casper Jan 1
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Allegiant Air is ending its twice a week discount service from Casper to Las Vegas on Jan 1st, effectively slashing the number of cities served out of Casper by one-third.
Allegiant's withdrawal will cost the Casper airport $26,000 per year in landing and rental fees with airport director Glenn Januska saying there could be other losses as well, such as fewer passengers paying for parking or eating at restaurants.
Casper isn't the only smaller air market losing Allegiant. The airline announced in the past week it's also dropping Youngstown, Ohio, and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
