(Neb)-Chadron Keg Party Results In Dozens Of Citations
CHADRON - Law enforcement agencies in Chadron are still talking about the raid two weeks ago on the unofficial Keg Races party that resulted in dozens of citations to Chadron State College students...mostly for underage drinking.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Dawes County Sheriff's Office, and Chadron Police Department joined forces for the raid. Police Chief Tim Lordino says his department learned of the party through social media and coordinated the enforcement effort.
State Patrol Captain Jamey Balthazor told NBC Nebraska some 400 people and 200-to-300 vehicles were in a field on the north side of Highway 20 about a mile west of Chadron.
Officers seized 17 kegs of beer and issued around 65 citations for minor in possession of alcohol and 3 tickets for transporting alcohol across state lines.
Chief Lordino told the TV station it was the largest such incident he's been involved with during his long law enforcement career, adding that young adults need to be more responsible for themselves and their friends.
