BRIDGEPORT -  Interim Alliance City Manager Rick Kuckkahn is now also the part-time Bridgeport city administrator, working a few hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. Kuckkahn, who retired earlier this year after more than 19 years as Scottsbluff city manager, says about 3/4ths of his time is in Alliance and the rest in Bridgeport.

Kirk Felhoelter resigned as Bridgeport's full-time city administrator in September and Kuckkahn says city officials contacted him about helping out, telling him they needed a "go to person" for issues that had been "simmering" since then.

Kuckkahn doesn't know how long he'll be filling in at Bridgeport because the city council is still deciding what process to use in finding and hiring a new full-time administrator. His tenure in Alliance is a bit clearer. The city council there has been taking applications and working with a consultant for a few months and hopes to have the new permanent city manager in place by April 1st.
