(Sidney)- A 36-year-old truck driver has entered no contest pleas to four counts of Motor Vehicle Homicide, a class III A felony, and one count of Motor Vehicle Homicide Involving an Unborn Child, a class IV felony, in Cheyenne County District Court according to a report from KNEB in Scottsbluff.

Josef Slezak, from
Rivergrove, Illinois, was charged after he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel of his semi in the early morning hours of September 9, 2012. A family of four moving from Maryland to California, including the pregnant mother, were killed when the semi slammed into stopped traffic because of a previous crash.

Prosecutors believed Slezak traveled virtually straight through from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to CheyenneCounty prior to the accident

A trial was scheduled to begin Monday in the case. The court accepted Slezak's pleas, ordered a pre-sentence investigation report and scheduled sentencing for October 16th at 12:00noon.
