Funeral services for 33-year old Michael James Featherman will be Friday, Dec 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Mr Ivis Long Visitor and the Wambli Mani Sundancers

Graveside services will be at Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Cemetery in Oglala.

A two-night wake service starts Wednesday, Dec 11, 2019 at noon at the Re-Creation Center in Oglala with the second night starting Thursday, Dec12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala with evening prayers starting at 7:00 PM each night.

Michael James Featherman “Tatanka Ho Waste” was born on August 12, 1986 in Pine Ridge, SD to Rayford Featherman and Karen Between Lodges. Michael made his journey to the Spirit World on December 3, 2019 in Oglala, SD.

Michael is survived by his children, Maleiah Featherman, Jeanette Star Comes Out, Misha Featherman and Meeko Elleo Renn Featherman, all of Oglala, SD; brothers, Charles (Xaviera) Long Soldier, Jr. of Oglala, SD and Norman (Crystal) Featherman of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Arlette (Kendall) Brought Plenty of Ft. Yates, ND, Lahnee Long Soldier (Harley Cortier) of #4 Community near Pine Ridge, SD, Tahnee (Victor) Between Lodges-Robles of Ogden, UT, and Ola and Precious Featherman, both of Oglala, SD; hunka brother, Jaeden Long Soldier of Oglala, SD; father, Rayford Featherman of St. Louis, MO; Hunka Ate, john Red Feather of #4 Community near Pine Ridge, SD; and special friend, Eleanor Two Eagle of Oglala, SD.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Between Lodges; brothers, Baby Ray Featherman, Brett Long Soldier and Kenneth Wayne Featherman; sisters, Carla and Cheryl Long Soldier; aunt, Noreen Between Lodges; and grandparents, Walter Between Lodges and Nora Frogg.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Kills Small, Austin Cuny, Jerrod Little, Isaiah Martin, Mike Little Wolf, BJ Plenty Arrows, Ernie Stands, Harland Dreaming Bear, Jr., Jaeden Long Soldier, Dale Hannaberger, Jon Brave and Jake Two Bulls.
