04/16/2019 - Sherry Jane Peck

Funeral services for Sherry Jane Peck “Kimimila Win,” age 75, will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the New American Legion in Martin, SD with Father Ed Hunt officiating.

Burial will be at the Martin Community Cemetery in Martin, SD.

A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Martin, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.

Sherry was born on December 18, 1943 in Torrington, WY to Raymond Smith Sr. and Sarah (Stover-Swallow) Smith. She made her journey to the Spirit World on April 8, 2019 at Custer Regional Hospital in Custer, SD.

Sherry was a great woman who loved to help people in any way she could. She served on the City Council in Martin, SD for two terms. She was a domestic violence advocate for the Bennett County State Attorney’s Office. She was also the President of the Morning Star Family Ministries Inc. from the day the company started until she passed away. Sherry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sherry is survived by children Barry, Randy, and Aaron Bettelyoun, all of Martin, SD and Randy Peck of Colorado; sisters Debbie Flores of Gering, NE and Denise Salway of Spearfish, SD; nieces Shirley and Penny Salway of Spearfish, SD, Gwen Smith of Fremont, NE, and Stephanie Smith of Gurnee, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by parents Raymond Smith Sr. and Sarah (Stover-Swallow) Smith; first husband and father of her children Grover Dean Bettelyoun; husband Neil Peck; sons Jeff Bettelyoun and Rick Peck; brothers Jerry Smith and Raymond Smith Jr.; and aunts Mabel Hullett and Mamie Neibaur.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bettelyoun, Dalton Bettelyoun, Corey Bettelyoun, Wade Bettelyoun, Jorge Flores Jr., Randy Peck, Brian Smith, and Stuart Livermont.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Niquisha Bettelyoun, Dacotahli Bettelyoun, Madison Bettelyoun, Maizie Bettelyoun, Bob and Pat Krier, Gayle Kocer-Schneller, Jane Colhoff, Tracy Livermont, Cory Ferguson, Paulette Fanning, Dick and Cathy Anderson, Linda Richards, LaCreek CAP Office, and all Friends and Relatives.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Sherry Jane Peck “Kimimila Win.”
