01/12/2019 - Gilbert 'Jackie' Little Spotted Horse

Funeral services for Gilbert “Jackie” Gene Little Spotted Horse, age 68, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD with Pastor Will Voss and Reverend Rhoda Mesteth officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Ivis Long Visitor and Waylon Black Crow.
Burial will be at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cemetery in Slim Buttes, SD.
A four-night wake service will begin with the first two nights starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 8 and 9, 2019 at the Lakota Lutheran Center in Scottsbluff, NE. Evening services will begin at 5:00 PM each night. The third and fourth nights will start at 1:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, January 10 and 11, 2019 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD.
Gilbert was born on September 29, 1950 in Pine Ridge, SD to Paul and Gladys (Marshall) Little Spotted Horse. He made his journey to the Spirit World on January 3, 2019 at his home in Scottsbluff, NE.
Gilbert is survived by spouse Fern Cross of Scottsbluff, NE; children Michael “Kevin” Cross and Nona Morales of Scottsbluff, NE, Gilbert Little Spotted Horse Jr. of Lincoln, NE, and Billy Little Spotted Horse, Morning Song Little Spotted Horse, Julianna Izazaga, Julian Cross, Bernard Little Spotted Horse, Shanlee Cross, Angelia Cross, and Angelita Cross, all of Scottsbluff, NE; sister Linda Yellow Horse; brother Norton Little Spotted Horse; 42 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Gilbert was preceded in death by parents Paul and Gladys Little Spotted Horse; daughter Jessica Grace Cross; brothers Donroy Little Spotted Horse, David Little Spotted Horse, and Lavern Little Spotted Horse; and grandchildren Alonzo Cross, Isabella Little Spotted Horse, and Jacob Pettis.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Gilbert “Jackie” Gene Little Spotted Horse.
