01/13/2018 - Johnny 'Wilson' Leggins

Funeral services for Johnny “Wilson” Pat Pawnee Leggins, age 51, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Sidney Has No Horse.
 
Burial will be at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Cemetery in Manderson, SD.
 
A two-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM on Thursday.
 
Wilson was born on September 29, 1966 in Pine Ridge, SD to David Pawnee Leggins and Agnes (Black Bear) Pawnee Leggings. He passed away on January 3, 2018 at his home in Manderson, SD.
 
Wilson is survived by spouse Lisa Pawnee Leggins of Manderson, SD; children Latisha (Jose) Pawnee Leggins-Compean, Bridget Pawnee Leggins, and Johnny Pawnee Leggins Jr., all of Houston, TX and Alfonso Pawnee Leggins, Daniel Pawnee Leggins, Kendra Pawnee Leggins, Johnnie Pawnee Leggins, Alyssa Looks Twice, and Gage Traversie, all of Manderson, SD; brothers Paul Pawnee Leggins of Manderson, SD and Zachary Pawnee Leggins of Belle Fourche, SD; grandchildren Alira, Gracyn, Tobias, Milene, Angelle, Maurice, Jerrice, Anthony, Lakota, and Adrian; and cats Midnight and Olive.
 
Wilson was preceded in death by parents David and Agnes Pawnee Leggins; brothers Raymond Pawnee Leggins and William “Canku” Pawnee Leggins; sisters Thelma Pawnee Leggins, Marie Pawnee Leggins, Carmelita Pawnee Leggins, Delphine Pawnee Leggins, Sara Pawnee Leggins, and Sandra Pawnee Leggins; grandparents Kate Pawnee Leggins-Fools Crow and Frank Fools Crow; and one child in infancy.

 Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Johnny “Wilson” Pat Pawnee Leggins.
