04/25/2013 - Francis Long Soldier

Funeral services for Francis Long Soldier, age 87, of Wanblee, SD will be Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD with Father Rick Abert, S.J. and Richard & Carol Lee officiating.
A one night wake service will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD.
Traditional Lakota Services provided by Mr. Richard Moves Camp.
Burial will be Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
Immediate Survivors:
Francis was born January 29, 1926 at Wanblee, SD to Antoine and Lizzie (Randall) Long Soldier. He was united in marriage to Evelyn M. Janis on September 4, 1946 at Kadoka, SD. Francis passed away on April 17, 2013 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital surrounded by his loving family, Francis will be greatly missed by all.

Daughters: Colleen Bettelyoun of Wanblee, SD, Sharon (Elton) Yellow Boy of Rapid City, SD, Anna (Gerald) Brings Him Back of Pine Ridge, SD, Eileen (Robert) Running Bear of Pine Ridge, SD, Delphine (Chris) One Horn of Kyle, SD, and Deloris (Darwin) Long Soldier of Rapid City, SD
Sister: Margaret Thorson of Cottonwood, SD
Sister-in-Law: Mabel Janis of Kyle, SD
Brother-in-Law: Everette Janis of Kyle, SD
Niece: Tamera Thorson of Cottonwood, SD
Nephew: Todd Thorson of Cottonwood, SD
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Lizzie (Randall) Long Soldier; wife, Evelyn M. (Janis) Long Soldier; son, Frank Long Soldier; daughter, Elizabeth Alice Long Soldier; granddaughter, Carla Long Soldier and Cheryl Long Soldier; and grandsons, Brett Long Soldier and Antoine Running Bear
