04/19/2013 - Frances Jeannette Hooker Horner

Funeral services for Frances Jeannette Hooker Horner will be Friday, April 19, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
The family requests donations to Frances' favorite charities: Priests for Life and EWTN.

Daughter of Harry Charles Hooker and Margaret Antoinette Lecher, was born on March 20, 1916, in Chadron, Nebraska. She graduated from Assumption Academy in Chadron and also from Chadron State College.

Frances married George Patric Horner in 1941. When George and Frances were first married, they lived in Belmont, Nebraska--a small town which no longer exists. Later they lived in Tillamook, Oregon before moving to Ocean Springs, Mississippi in 1950. Frances taught English and Latin at Biloxi High School until retiring in 1984.

George and Frances were active members of St. Alphonsus Church in Ocean Springs. After retiring from teaching, Frances continued to be an organist for three churches. George and Frances were also long time members of the Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, attending monthly meetings in New Orleans. For the past few years, she attended daily and Sunday Mass at both St. James Catholic Church in Corinth, Mississippi and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Immediate Survivors:
Children: Harry Paul Horner, Teresa Marie Horner Decker, Jean Alliene Marie Horner Buck, Marian Frances Horner Poulos, Joan Marie Horner Fullwood.
Grandchildren: 13
Great-Grandchildren: 6
