07/04/2020 - *4th of July in Harrison

It will be a 4th of July doubleheader this Saturday in Harrison with a morning event honoring veterans and fireworks at night.

The group that organized the Sioux County Memorial Day Ceremony that was scratched by coronavirus rules say the program will now be held Saturday morning at 11:00 on the south lawn of the Courthouse in Harrison.

They're inviting everyone to attend, but warning that individuals need to bring their own chairs and blankets because seating will not be provided. They're also asking attendees to follow social distancing recommendations.

Saturday night, the Harrison Community Club and some anonymous individual donors are sponsoring a fireworks show at dusk at the high school football field. They, too, are asking every to practice social distancing guidelines.

Donations will be accepted for next year's 4th of July fireworks. The Community Club has an account at Security First Bank with a notation or mention of fireworks needed to make sure donations go specifically for that purpose.
