10/19/2017 - Nebraska Section Annual Meeting At CSC
Everyone is invited to the Nebraska Section annual meeting sponsored by the Chadron State College Ag Club, October 17-19, on campus at CSC. Students and Nebraska Section President Elect Tony Perlinski have worked to put together what should be a very interesting meeting and field tour. Registration for regular members is $60 ($20 for students), which includes lunch. Register early online (http://www.nesrm.org/SectionMeeting.html) or send registration information to Angie Petersen, 1802 West 1st St., North Platte, NE 69101.
It will be a little different this year; the afternoon session will include two demonstrations either outside (weather permitting) or in the Coffee Agriculture pavilion on campus. Demonstrations include the application of unmanned aerial vehicles to rangeland management by Jason Rust of Mid-West Vegetation Management, and low stress animal handling basics by Ryan Sexton. Thursday’s field tour will be led by the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands as present some of the different aspects of managing public rangeland resources, including non-lethal prairie dog management, wilderness management challenges, and management strategies post wildfire.
Don’t forget about the banquet and crazy auction on Wednesday night. The Winery in Chadron will be putting together a great meal, and students have been working on arranging some top notch entertainment.
