(Neb)-True Thorne, Korby Campbell Qualify For State Track Meet
OGALLALA - Chadron High scored only 5 points on both the boys and girls sides at the B-9 district track meet yesterday, but still wound up with 1 state qualifier.
With only the top 3 placers in going individual events, True Thorne was only 4th in the girls discus, but she still earned a berth at state by topping the automatic qualifying mark.
The only other placers at district for the Lady Cardinals were Allie Ferguson, 6th in the 400, and Dana Dunbar, 8th in the 100.
The Chadron boys had only 3 placers.Although he placed 4th, Dom Nobiling was added to the state field on Friday in the high hurdles as one of the next fastest times, while Jacob Lemmon and Sawyer Haag were 8th in the 400 and 1600 respectively.
Gordon-Rushville's Korby Campbell qualified for state in 2 events with 2nds in the long jump and 400 meters. The Mustangs also got a 5th in the 400 from Denis Mulcahy while the 1600 relay team was 4th as the boys finished with 22 points.
The Gordon-Rushville girls scored only 2 points, a 5th place finish by the 1600 relay.
