(Neb.)- Husker Volleyball Signs Texas Transfer
(Lincoln)- Nebraska volleyball head coach John Cook has announced that 6-2 outside hitter Lexi Sun, a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 selection as a freshman at Texas in 2017, will transfer to the Husker program. Sun, who will be a sophomore next season, will be eligible to compete immediately.
The California native was the top-ranked recruit in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com coming out of high school. After announcing her intention to transfer from Texas, Sun visited Nebraska, Wisconsin and USC before signing with the Huskers.
Cook recruited Sun while she was in high school, but Sun committed to Texas as a sophomore while at Santa Fe Christian School.
At Santa Fe Christian School, Sun was the PrepVolleyball.com National Player of the Year, the Gatorade Player of the Year and All-USA Volleyball Player of the Year. Sun ranked No. 1 on PrepVolleyball’s top seniors in 2016-17, and she was an Under Armour High School First-Team All-American.
