(Neb.)-Eagles Dust Off Golf Clubs In Vegas
LAS VEGAS -- March 10, 2018 -- Chadron State College golfers took to the course for competition for the first time since October on Friday and Saturday, rebooting their season at the Beaver Invitational at Aliante Golf Club in Las Vegas.
Once again, Sam Rahmig was the team leader, shooting 90-90-180 on the par-72 to finish in a tie for 41st.
Freshman Logan Kasten had her highest finish of the year, placing 47th with a score of 92-97-189.
"We struck the ball pretty well today," said Head Women's Golf Coach John Ritzen, "but we struggled chipping and putting. That was to be expected, since we've been focusing on our full swings over winter and haven't been able to get outside to work on our short game. We saw some promise, but we'll have to put in some time on our chipping and putting once we can get outside to practice."
The Eagles' other two freshmen, Adrianna Weeldreyer, and Tori Meschke, finished at 100-98-198, and 106-119-225, respectively. The CSC scorecard read 388-404-792, as the squad defeated Minnesota State Crookston for 10th place.
NAIA Rocky Mountain College was the tourney champ at 329-318-647 over two rounds.
