(Neb.)- Nebraska BSB Drops Home Opener For First Time Since '78
(Chadrad Sports)- The Nebraska baseball team lost it’s home opener for the first time since 1978, dropping the first game of a four game series with Cal Poly 14-8 on Thursday afternoon.
The Huskers held an 8-4 lead to open the he 7th inning before the Mustangs broke out for five runs in the top of the frame to go ahead 9-8. Nebraska surrendered two more runs in the 8th and three in 9th, while watching their last eight batters all go down in order.
The Big Red pitching staff gave up 14 hits, 10 walks, and three hit batters on the day. Game two is set for a 12:35 p.m MT first pitch on Friday.
