(Neb)-Creighton Loses On Last-Second Foul Call
OMAHA - A controversial foul call with 3-10ths of a second left cost Creighton an upset of 5th-ranked Xavier as the Musketeers' Quentin Goodin hit both free throws for a 72-71 victory.
Ronnie Harrell Jr had given Creighton a 1-point lead with 3 free throws after being fouled on a 3-point shot with 4.6-seconds, but Goodin took the inbound pass and drove the length of the court with Harrell whistled for contact in the land.
Xavier won its fourth road game in a row despite season scoring leader Trevon Bluiett being held to six points and forward Tyrique Jones missing his second straight game with a shoulder injury.
Goodin scored a career-high 17 points as the Musketeers improved to 23-3 on the year and 11-2 in the Big East, where they lead Villanova by a half-game.
Marcus Foster had 20 of his 29 points in the 2nd half and matched his career-high with 8 rebounds but it wasn't enough to keep the Bluejays from losing their first home game of the season and slipping to18-7 and 8-5
