(Neb.)- Chadron Girls Break Four Game Skid
By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 01/09/2018 09:05 PM (Chadron)- Chadron closed out the final three quarters of Tuesday's game 46-21 to down Hemingford 50-27 to snap a 4-game losing skid.
The Lady Cards were led by Peyton Underwood's 11-point effort.
Both teams had a hard time finding the basketball in the first period as Chadron managed a Carstyn Hageman 3-pointer and a Dana Dunbar free throw to trail 6-4 after the first 8-minutes.
Chadron took control in the 2nd quarter as Underwood started dictating offense in the paint with 7 points in the period. The Lady Cardinals took a 19-11 lead into intermission.
Chadron's defense forced Hemingford in to turnovers repeatedly and continued to cash in offense to extend the lead to 38-16 heading in to the final period.
The Lady Cardinals are now 5-6 on the season and will return to the Bird Cage for the first time in 2018 when they host Alliance on Friday. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
