(Neb.)- Chadron Girls Struggle In Loss To Mitchell
(Chadron)- The Chadron High girls dropped their fourth game in a row on Saturday evening as they fell to Mitchell 61-17. It's the second time this season the Lady Tigers, ranked by the Omaha World-Herald 3rd in Class C-1 and 10th All-Class, have defeated the Lady Cardinals by more than 40 points..
Dana Dunbar gave Chadron a brief lead by nailing a 3-point shot to open the game, but Mitchell outscored the Cards 16-2 the rest of the 1st quarter to grab momentum.
Mitchell kept the foot on the gas both offensively and defensively as they outscore Chadron 22-2 in the 2nd quarter for a 38-7 hafltime lead.
Chadron was able to double it's first half production in the 3rd quarter, but couldn't cut in to the deficit at all and trailed 56-14 moving to the final quarter.
Dana Dunbar led Chadron with 7-points on the night while sister Dawn added 4-points.
Chadron is now 4-6 on the season and will travel to Hemingford on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m tip off.
