(Neb.)- Chadron Boys & Girls Tip Off Season On Thursday

By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 11/29/2017 10:28 AM
(Chadron)- The Chadron High boys and girls basketball teams will open the season on Thursday at the Western Conference Tournament.  In years past, the Cards would have opened up with a home game to tip off the tournament, but a format change has eliminated that possibility.

The Chadron boys will square off with defending Colorado Class 3A State Champion, Sterling, who is led by 6' 8" NCAA Div. 1 recruit Bodie Hume who is currently committed to Northern Colorado but has 10 other mid-major offers.  The Cardinals meanwhile return only six players off of last years Senior heavy squad.  Game time is set for 5:30 pm in Mitchell.

The Chadron/Sterling winner will meet the winner of Gering and Greeley West, while on the other side of the bracket Sidney plays Mitchell and Alliance faces Scottsbluff.

The Lady Cardinals task will be just as tough when they match up with Mitchell in Gering.  The Lady Tigers return a solid core of players off of last years state tournament qualifying squad.  Tip off will be at 4:00 p.m.

The winner of Chadron and Mitchell will play against the winner of Alliance and Greeley West.  Socttsbluff meets Sterling and Gering matches up with Sidney.

All of the Cardinal games this weekend can be heard on Stereo AM 610 KCSR, online at chadrad.com, and the KCSR Radio App.
