(Neb.)- Hickstein Has Big Lead, Cards Sit 2nd At State Golf

(Chadron)- After the first day of the Class C girls state golf meet, Chadron Senior Alpine Hickstein owns an 8-stroke lead with a round of 72 for the individual title chase, while the Lady Cardinals shot a 382 as a team to hold down 2nd place, 20-strokes behind Ogallala and 20-strokes ahead of Lincoln Christian.

Taurie Pourier shot a 99 on the day, Aubree Noble a 105, Kat Dodd a 106, and Maddie Pelton a 112.

Hickstein's round on Wednesday didn't have many blemishes on it. Her only mistake was a bogey on the par five 14th that gave back the stroke she took with a birdie on the par three 4th.

Noble and Pelton are making their first appearances at the state golf meet.

Starting tee times for Tuesday have not yet been announced.
