(Neb.)- Chadron Softball Wins Scottsbluff Invite
(Chadron)- The Chadron High softball team captured the Scottsbluff Invitational Tournament championship on Saturday by defeating Gothenburg 11-3 and Gering 8-2.
Peyton Underwood sparked the offense against the Lady Haymakers going 2-for-3 at the plate with 4-RBI's off of a pair of homeruns. Dana Dunbar had a 3-RBI game with two doubles.
Micah Stouffer pitched a complete game allowing 7-hits and striking out three.
In the championship game against the Lady Bulldogs, Chadron was in control all afternoon. The Lady Cardinals brought home 2-runs in the first, one in the second inning, two more in the fifth, and capped off their scoring with 3-runs in the top of the 6th. Gering didn't get on the board until the bottom of the 6th with it's only two runs.
Stouffer, Underwood, and Mia Brodrick each tallied 2-RBI's to lead Cadron, who now carries a 5-game win streak in to a road match-up with Alliance on Tuesday.
Four Lady Cardinals also made the all-tournament team including Maidsyn Hamar, Peyton Underwood, Dana Dunbar, and Kylee Garrett.
The Lady Cardinals are now back above .500 at 8-6 on the season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
