(Neb.)-Nebraska's Alvarado, Schreiber To Return For Senior Season

By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 07/12/2017 08:14 AM
(Lincoln)- After closing out their season with an 0-2 performance in the Corvallis Regional of the NCAA Tournament, the Nebraska baseball team received good news this week.  MLB Draftees Luis Alvarado and Scott Schreiber will both return for their Senior seasons.

Alvarado was a 13th round selection of the Seattle Mariners while Schreiber was taken by Tampa Bay in the 26th round.  Alvarado saw time in both center field and on the mound, leading the Huskers in saves in 2017.  Schreiber led Nebraska in home runs, doubles, and RBI's last season.

The Huskers did lose First Team All-Big Ten pick Jake Meyers to the Houston Astros and Nebraska signee John Swanda out of Des Moines, IA signed with the Angels.
