(Neb.)- Chadron Juniors & Seniors Split 4th Of July Double Header
(Chadron)- The Chadron American Legion First National Bank North Platte Junior and Senior Nationals split a double header with Alliance on Tuesday. The Alliance Juniors put up the first 8-runs of the game in a 10-1 victory over Chadron, while the Chadron Senior Nationals scored two runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to break a two all tie for a 4-2 win.
As a team, the Junior Nationals collected 5-hits, but were sat down on 10 strikeouts with the only RBI of the day coming from Cole Madsen in the bottom of the 4th inning.
The Junior Nationals are 7-18 ahead of tonight's regular season finale against Sidney at Maurice Horse Field with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
The Senior Nationals were actually out hit by Alliance 5-4, but after giving up two early runs in the top of the first, shut down the Spartans the rest of the way on the base paths to squeeze out their 21st win of the season. Chadron brought single runs home in the 2nd and 3rd innings, and completed the comeback with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Coy Bila and Sean O'Brien each collected an RBI, while Bila took the win on the mound recording six strikeouts.
The FNB North Platte Senior Nationals now sit at 21-13 on the season and will also face Sidney tonight as part of a double header with the Juniors. First pitch is 7:00 p.m.
