CHADRON, Neb. -- May 6, 2017 -- Chadron State College Head Volleyball Coach Riann Mullis announced one final addition to the program's roster headed into the fall, after signing Shelby Schouten to a scholarship letter for 2017.

Originally from Alton, Iowa, Schouten played two seasons at Des Moines Area Community College where she helped the Bears to two conference and Region XI-A titles. The 5-11 hitter was named First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region in 2014, her freshman season, helping DMACC to the national tournament where they placed sixth. Schouten got a Second Team All-America spot that season, hitting over .300 at the right side position. She followed that up with another successful season in 2015, when she was named Second Team All-Region, and her team went even deeper into the national tournament, reaching the semifinal round.

The 2017 CSC volleyball newcomers' roster is now complete and includes Megan Chintala, Andria Dowell, Keshia Ellwanger, Megan Godsey, McKenna Hartigan, Carrie Jones, Karli Noble, and Aijahnae Springs. In addition, junior Mickey Trimble joined the team at semester and participated in a full spring season of drills.
