(Chadron- Chadrad Sports)- Two players and one coach from the 2016 Chadron High football team have been selected to participate in the 2017 West Nebraska All-Star football game on June 10th in Scottsbluff.  It's the first time since the 2015 West Nebraska All-Star game that Chadron has had at least one player selected.

Brendinh Sayaloune and Marquis Burwell will both compete for the West team, while Cardinal defensive coordinator Jamie Slingsby will be an assistant of the West Team staff.

Sayaloune, who recently signed to run track at Chadron State College, was second on the team in rushing yards last season with 366-yards to go with four rushing touchdowns.  He was third on the team in all-purpose yards with with 572, but only appeared in six games last year after sustaining a season ending injury.

Burwell, who will attend Dixie State in St. George, Utah and is considering walking-on to the football team, did most of his damage on the defensive side of the ball in 2016.  He was third on the team in tackles with 63, but second on the team in solo tackles with 22.  When it came to getting to the quarterback, Burwell was the best Chadron had on the defensive front totaling 4.5 sacks on the season.

Jamie Slingsby has been a part of the Chadron High coaching staff for the past four season as a defensive coordinator and is the first Cardinal coach selected to the West Nebraska All-Star football game since C.J Bach was an assistant for the West staff in the 2015 game.

The game will be played at Scottsbluff High Schools Bearcat Stadium on June 10th at 7:00 p.m.
