(Neb.)- Cards Fly High At Scottsbluff/Alliance Track Meet
(Chadron)- The Chadron High boys and girls track teams combined for four top finishes at the Scottsbluff/Alliance Invitational on Thursday. Three of those first place finishes came in the jumps with Brendinh Sayaloune and Shea Bailey topping the boys and girls long jumps, while Marcus Fernandez claimed first in the boys triple jump. The other came from Jake Lemmon who won the boys 400m.
Sayaloune, the Chadron State College track signee, also placed second in the 100m and fourth in the triple jump. Fernandez capped his day with a second place finish in the 110m hurdles. Bailey was able to come away with a third place medal in the girls triple jump.
Other Cardinal boys having outstanding performances were Dom Nobiling who placed second in the 300m hurdles and fourth in the 110m hurdles. Marquis Burwell finished fifth in both the Shot Put and Discus, while Theo Marcy earned sixth in the shot put. James McCLure placed fifth in the boys 800m run.
Greta Welch had a superb day claiming three top six finishes including third in the high jump and 110m hurdles, and sixth in the 300m hurdles. Dawn Dunbar captured fourth in the 110m hurdles, fifth in the 300m hurdles, and sixth in the triple jump. Savanna Sayaloune took third in the 100m dash, Kyler Behrends was second in the 400m, while Tyleigh Strotheide placed fifth in the same event.
Julianne Dickerson claimed sixth in the 1600m run. Allie Ferguson was fourth in the 300m hurdles, and True Thorne took fourth in the discus and sixth in the shot put.
The Cardinal track teams are back on the track Friday, April 21st at their own Chadron Twilight Meet.
