(Neb)-Scottsbluff To Play Gretna For Boys B Title
LINCOLN - It will be Scottsbluff against defending champion Gretna for the Class B state final tomorrow at noon MT after Gretna eliminated Alliance 74-46 in one semifinal while Scottsbluff ended Aurora’s season for the second straight year, this time 78-67.
Scottsbluff led by 8 to start the 4th quarter, which saw a combined 61 points...including 25 by Aurora's Tommy Leininger...and never let Aurora get too close.
Leininger finished with 38 but Scottsbluff star and Chadron State recruit Dru Kuxhausen had a game-high 39 including 16-16 from the foul line in the 4th.
Gretna jumped out to a 32-10 first quarter lead over Alliance and cruised to the most lopsided Class B semifinal margin since Gretna beat Norris by 27 in 2011.
Zach Imig, who scored just 2 points in Gretna's state opener, exploded for 17 of his game-high 23 points in the 1st quarter.
Alliance standout Austin Luger scored 16, but the Bulldogs shot just 33% one day after hitting 10-17 treys in beating Platteview. The Bulldogs end the season 20-6
