(Chadron)- Jadyn McCartney dropped 15 first half points, as Chadron ran out to a 30-7 halftime lead and never looked back in defeating Valentine 50-21 in the George Watson Rotary Holiday Tournament on Thursday.

The win moves the Lady Cardinals in to Friday's championship game against Hemingford at 1:00 pm.

McCartney scored  Chadron's first 7 points of the game broken up by a Valentine basket to grab an early 7-2 advantage.  Dana Dunbar jumped in and scored 4 of her 8 points in the first quarter and the Cardinal led 15-5 after one quarter.

The scoring continued and the defense stepped up, holding the Lady Badgers to only two 2nd quarter points in reaching their halftime lead.

The second half was much closer as Chadron outscored Valentine 20-14 in the final two quarters, but Danielle Johnsons season best 11 points helped the Lady Cards stay in command.

Chadron is now 5-3 on the season ahead of tomorrow's championship game which will be carried on FM 107.7 KBPY.

McCartney finished the night with a game high 19 points, followed by Johnson's 11.  Dana Dunbar tallied 8, while Teagan Westemeier scored 6.

Shea Bailey dropped a jumper and a pair of free throws for 4 points, and Peyton Underwood and True Thorne finished with a point each.
