LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska's all-time leading tackler Barrett Ruud, offensive lineman Russ Hochstein and two other former Huskers are being inducted into the state football hall of fame.
Hochstein was a two-time first-team All-Big 12 offensive guard and an All-American in 2000. Hochstein won two Super Bowl titles with New England as part of a 12-year NFL career.
Ruud played in the NFL for eight years after setting the Nebraska record for tackles with 432 total.
Ruud will be joining his great-grandfather, Clarence Swanson, and his father, Tom Ruud, in the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
In addition to Ruud and Hochstein, 1971 All-Big Eight offensive tackle Carl Johnson and 1982 All-Big Eight offensive guard Mike Mandelko are in this year's class.
