(Neb.)- Four Eagles Named To All-Nebraska D-II Softball Team
OMAHA, Neb. - Four Chadron State College softball players have been named to the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska Division II Softball Team.
Taylor Bauer, Katie Londo, Kylee Polsley and Aryn Grywusiewicz all earned first team distinction, while Sarah Knudsen, Courtney Lecher and Rebecca Wetsch are honorable mention.
Bauer, a freshman second baseman from Rapid City, South Dakota, had a .322 batting average and scored 21 runs. She had 29 hits on the season, including five home runs and three doubles, and drove in 12 runs.
Londo, a senior third baseman from Colorado Springs, Colorado, led the Eagles with a .355 batting average. She had 55 hits and scored a team-high 29 runs, while blasting 14 home runs and driving in 32 runs.
Polsley, a senior pitcher from Omaha, set a school record for wins in a season with 16 and she led the RMAC with four shutouts. For the season, she posted an earned run average of 3.20 and struck out 120 batters.
Grywusiewicz, a senior pitcher from Denver, posted a 9-10 record in the circle for Chadron State. She tossed 12 complete games and struck out 53 batters.
Chadron State College finished the 2014 season with a 28-23 record and finished tied for second in the conference with a 23-11 record. The 28 victories were the most in school history.
