(Neb.)-Miles looking for more progress at Nebraska

By: Andrew Lacy Posted at: 01/17/2014 03:13 PM
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Second-year coach Tim Miles is looking for more progress from his Nebraska basketball team.

The Cornhuskers (8-8) have lost four straight to start Big Ten play. No. 11 Ohio State visits Lincoln on Monday.

Last Sunday, the Cornhuskers led Purdue by two points before a 6 1/2-minute field-goal drought. When it was over, in the last minute of the game, they trailed by four.

Miles says he needs to bring in more Big Ten-caliber players, but that will take time.

Terran Petteway is averaging better than 17 points but is shooting only 43 percent. Miles says Petteway and Deverell Biggs are forcing too many shots.

Petteway says the Huskers have drawn encouragement from close losses against Michigan and Purdue. He says he and his teammates need to stay positive.
