(Neb.)- Chadron Strikes Quick, Captures District Title
(Mitchell)- Chadron's offense scored 42 points in the first quarter Friday night on their way to a 77-24 win over Mitchell in a game that clinched the district title and a berth in the state playoffs for the Cardinals.
Following a bye week for the Cardinals their offense didn't skip a beat as they scored on every possession in the first 12 minutes.
Starting the second quarter, head coach Mike Lecher opted to rest his starting offense and defense and allow the younger players an opportunity against Mitchell's first team. After allowing 24 unanswered points, the Cardinals finished the first had with a long 78 yard TD pass from quarterback TD Stein to Spencer Elliason.
The second half was much of the same as Chadron's high powered offense continued to mount scoring drives.
With the win, Chadron moves to 5-2 on the season and will close out the 2013 regular season on the road this Thursday when they travel to Valentine. Kick off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with the pregame on KCSR getting underway at 5:30 p.m. Click on the link below for pictures
